The upcoming Tata Sierra launch in India is just around the corner. Test mules of the SUV have been spotted several times, showing that final trials are underway. Amid this, Tata Motors has officially announced the Tata Sierra India launch date confirming when the SUV will arrive.

While it was previously believed that the EV version would arrive first, it now appears that the Sierra ICE launch will precede the electric model. Let’s dive deeper into the upcoming Sierra ICE launch date, along with its features, specifications, rivals, and what to expect from this highly awaited SUV.

Upcoming Tata Sierra launch soon — Design

The upcoming Tata Sierra will sit between the Harrier and the Tata Curvv, bringing back the iconic Sierra name. Its design is modern but still boxy. At the front, it has sharp LED headlamps and a full-width LED light strip just under the bonnet. The grille is smaller and more stylish compared to the large ones on other SUVs.Rectangular fog lights, a sporty lower bumper grille, and an underbody skid plate further complement the upcoming Tata Sierra design.

At the side, the door handles are similar to the ones on the Curvv. At the back, the taillights also have a full-width LED strip. Other highlights include sporty roof rails, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a hood spoiler.

The Tata Sierra interior features Tata’s first three-screen dashboard layout, which could make you think of the Mahindra XEV 9e dashboard. It also comes with a four-spoke steering wheel with Tata's illuminated logo, giving the cabin a tech-savvy look.

The Sierra ICE features also include dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, a touch panel for AC controls, ambient lighting, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, panoramic glass roof, and more. Upcoming Tata Sierra engine options

Among many things that Tata cars excel at, its range of petrol engines is not one of them. Currently, Tata Motors has three petrol engines on offer — 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.2-litre turbo petrol and 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo petrol. With the launch of the Sierra, Tata Motors is set to bring two new petrol engine options — a 1.5-litre T-GDI turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol. While the former will be the one locking its horns with the T-GDI motors of the Creta and Seltos, the new naturally-aspirated petrol motor will compete in cost, keeping the new Tata Sierra starting price in check.

Needless to say, the new 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated motor will be a derivative of the 1.5-litre T-GDI motor, which will later also power the Harrier and Safari petrol. The new naturally aspirated petrol motor will enable Tata Motors to price the Sierra competitively against the lower variants of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and MG Astor. It remains to be seen what transmission options this new engine comes with, given that the rivals offer both manual and automatic options.

Tata Sierra launch date in India

The Tata Sierra launch timeline has been confirmed for 25th November. Once it arrives, the Sierra will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate.
