Toyota Glanza updated with six airbags as standard — Price unchanged

Toyota India has updated the Glanza premium hatchback with an inclusion of six airbags across its variants, which were earlier only offered in the top two trims. With the update, Toyota has also introduced a new Prestige Edition for the Glanza, offering a cosmetic accessories package for the hatchback.

Toyota Glanza now gets standard six airbags

The biggest update to the Glanza is the inclusion of standard six airbags across the variant lineup. What’s interesting is that the standard six airbags do not affect the Toyota Glanza price—that continues to retail between Rs 6.9 lakh and Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi. It is worth mentioning that its Japanese cousin on which it’s based—the Maruti Suzuki Baleno—is yet to be updated with standard six airbags, the announcement of which is likely to take place soon.

While nowhere close to the colossal sales of the Baleno, the Toyota Glanza is among the best-selling Toyota cars in India and has already crossed 2 lakh sales milestone in the past six years from launch. The Toyota Glanza comes packed with features such as a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charging, surround view camera, head-up display, automatic headlights and rear AC vents.

Toyota Glanza Prestige Edition launched

In addition to the inclusion of the standard six airbags, Toyota has also introduced the Toyota Glanza Prestige Edition. The new edition—first introduced with the Urban Cruiser Hyryder—offers a few dealer-level cosmetic additions to the exterior of the hatchback. 

These additions include: 

• Premium door visors
• Body side moulding with chrome and black accents
• Rear lamp garnish
• Chrome garnishes for ORVMs and fenders
• Rear skid plate
• Illuminated door sills
• Lower grille garnish
