

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella deliveries begin in India — First customer receives EV in Bhubaneswar

The first Urban Cruiser Ebella delivery took place at Capital Toyota in Bhubaneswar. The handover ceremony was led by State Head Animesh Pradhan and attended by dealership officials, staff, Mr. Swain, and his family members. Following the completion of formalities, the keys were handed over to the customer, officially marking the start of Ebella deliveries in India.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is currently available in the top-spec E3 variant. Prices start at Rs 23.60 lakh for mono-tone colours and go up to Rs 23.80 lakh for dual-tone options (both ex-showroom). Toyota has already confirmed that two more variants, E1 and E2, will be introduced at a later stage. It will be priced lower. For now, the E3 serves as the fully loaded version, offering the highest level of features and technology available in the lineup.

The Urban Cruiser Ebella features a dual-tone brown and black interior designed to give the cabin a premium feel. The dashboard houses two 10-inch screens, with one serving as the infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the other functions as a digital instrument cluster.
The floating centre console helps create a cleaner layout while adding extra storage space. Buyers also get ambient lighting with 12 colour options for cabin personalisation. Other key features include ventilated front seats with 10-way electric adjustment, a JBL premium audio system, wireless phone charging, and a panoramic sunroof.

The Toyota Ebella comes equipped with a 360-degree camera system that improves visibility during parking and low-speed driving. It also features Level 2 ADAS functions, including lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control, which can help reduce driver fatigue on long journeys.

Safety equipment includes seven airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, and a high-strength steel body structure designed to improve occupant protection. The SUV also uses crumple zones to absorb and redirect impact forces away from the passenger cabin in the event of a collision.

The first delivered Urban Cruiser Ebella is equipped with a 61 kWh lithium iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack and a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 172 bhp and 193 Nm of torque. Toyota claims a driving range of 543 km on a single charge under ARAI test conditions. A smaller 49 kWh battery version will be introduced later, offering a more affordable option for buyers with primarily urban and suburban driving needs.
