Upcoming Mahindra SUV spied testing — Is it the new XUV500?

Spy shots of what looks like a new Mahindra SUV have been surfacing on the internet. While the spied test mule was heavily camouflaged, a few styling details of the upcoming SUV could be made out. We think that it might be the new XUV500 that is expected to be launched to rival the Tata Harrier. Here’s what we think about the newly-spied Mahindra SUV.

Upcoming Mahindra SUV design details

As seen in the spied images, the upcoming Mahindra SUV seems to have taken quite some inspiration from the current generation Land Rover Defender, with an uncannily similar side profile. You can also see flush door handles that seem to be becoming increasingly popular these days. The front features a round pair of headlights, along with a fairly large grille in the centre.

New Mahindra SUV suspension details

While there are speculations around this test mule being that of a new generation Bolero, we suspect that it might actually be a premium SUV instead, as the images reveal an independent suspension setup for the rear wheels. Given the presence of independent suspension at the rear, it is highly likely to also feature an all-wheel-drive option.

2026 Mahindra SUV launch timeline
