On paper, the Baleno’s petrol and CNG engines deliver slightly better power and come with a 4-cylinder setup. The Altroz facelift has a bit less power and mostly comes with 3-cylinder engines, except for the diesel powertrain, which uses a 4-cylinder engine. But let’s not forget, with petrol in the Altroz, you also get the choice of a 6-speed DCA gearbox.

The Tata Altroz dimensions make it 10mm wider and 23mm taller than the Maruti Baleno. On the other side, the Baleno gets a 19mm longer wheelbase and 5mm higher ground clearance.

Talking about the luggage space, the Altroz CNG boot space stands at 210 litres. The exact Baleno CNG boot space hasn’t been officially mentioned by the carmaker, but it’s said to be quite decent. With the CNG tank and spare tyre taking up some room, usable space does get a bit tight. Still, if there’s no heavy luggage, you can manage to fit a fair amount of things without much trouble.
