Honda ZR-V deliveries begin as first two batches sell out — All details inside!

Honda Cars India has commenced deliveries of the ZR-V hybrid, its new flagship SUV in the country, but demand has already outpaced the initial supply. The company confirmed that the first two batches allocated for the Indian market have been fully booked, prompting the need for additional stock. The ZR-V was launched at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 47.99 lakh in Delhi, with deliveries beginning on 25 July 2026.

Honda says the response to the ZR-V hybrid has been stronger than expected, with both initial batches allocated for India sold out before deliveries even began. Commenting on the launch, Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India, said the ZR-V marks an important milestone for the company by bringing Honda's latest strong hybrid technology, design, comfort, and safety to Indian customers. He added that the company is now focused on delivering existing bookings while preparing for the next batch of vehicles.

The strong demand is partly due to the ZR-V being imported as a completely built unit (CBU) from Japan, which naturally limits supply compared to locally assembled models. Globally, the ZR-V has sold over 8 lakh units since its debut in 2022, giving Honda an established product as it expands allocations for the Indian market.

2026 Honda ZR-V powertrain and performance

The ZR-V is powered by a 2.0-litre e:HEV Sports Hybrid system, combining a direct-injection Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with a dual-motor hybrid setup. This system delivers a combined output of 184PS and 315Nm of torque, paired with an e-CVT transmission. Depending on driving conditions, the hybrid system automatically switches between Electric, Hybrid and Engine Drive modes to optimise efficiency and performance.

Honda claims a fuel efficiency figure of 22.8 km/l for the ZR-V, along with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.9 seconds. The SUV features independent suspension at all four corners, a relatively low ground clearance of 180mm, and a driving position that leans toward a sedan-like feel rather than a typical high-set SUV stance.

Inside, the Honda ZR-V features an all-black cabin with leather upholstery. It comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system. Other features include wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, powered front seats with driver memory function, regenerative braking paddle shifters, and a hands-free powered tailgate.

The rear seats split 60:40, while folding them flat expands the luggage capacity to 1,313 litres. Safety equipment includes Honda SENSING ADAS as standard, offering features such as collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and road departure mitigation. The SUV also comes with 8 airbags, a 360-degree camera, vehicle stability assist, hill descent control, and front and rear parking sensors.

All-new Honda ZR-V colours and warranty

The Honda ZR-V is available in four exterior shades: Twilight Mist Black Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl. Honda backs the SUV with a standard three-year warranty with unlimited kilometre coverage, extendable up to seven years. The lithium-ion hybrid battery carries an 8-year or 1.60 lakh km warranty, while the broader hybrid components are covered for 5 years or 1 lakh km.
