Hyundai Motor India has announced its April 2025 sales report, which reveals a concerning degrowth for the South Korean carmaker. Hyundai April 2025 sales insights

 

As revealed by the April 2025 sales, Hyundai India domestic shipments to its dealers were down by 14.4% MoM and 8.9% YoY, when compared to March 2025 and April 2024, respectively. This comes after Hyundai secured its 2nd position in the yearly sales in the financial year 2024-25. Reports suggest that Hyundai anticipated an increase in sales for the month of April 2025, thereby boosting its dealer shipments in March 2025, also ensuring its position as the 2nd largest carmaker in terms of sales in the country.

Exports continue to grow

 

While Hyundai is facing the heat from local competition from Tata Motors and Mahindra in the domestic market, the carmaker continues with strong growth in the export market, reinforcing its efforts in Make in India, Make for the World commitment. Hyundai registered 21.5% YoY growth in April 2025 exports compared to the same month last year. Between January 2025 and April 2025, the carmaker registered a 16.2% increase in its exports from the country compared to the timeline last year.

 

Hyundai cars FY 2024-25 sales

Hyundai retained its position as the second-largest domestic player in the Indian market and the top exporter of passenger cars. Speaking about the domestic market, Hyundai Motor India dispatched 5,98,666 units in FY 2024-25, 68.5% of which is taken by the Hyundai SUV range. The Hyundai Creta remains to be the undisputed leader in the C-SUV space and is also crowned the best-selling SUV in India, between January 2024 and March 2024 with over 52,898 unit dispatches.
