Maruti Suzuki has launched the Dzire CNG AMT at Rs 8,53,100, ex-showroom. It claims a fuel efficiency of 36.47 km/kg, making it India's most fuel-efficient sedan, according to JATO Dynamics. The certification is dated 18 September 2026.
The Dzire CNG AMT is part of Maruti's new Auto Green Mission, which adds automatic S-CNG options to the Swift, Dzire and Baleno. With these launches, Maruti becomes the second carmaker in India to offer an AMT with a CNG powertrain, after Tata Motors. In the compact sedan segment, the Dzire CNG AMT goes up against the Tata Tigor CNG AMT.
Maruti Dzire CNG AMT — Engine, output and mileage
The Dzire CNG AMT uses the 1.2-litre Advanced Z12E engine with Dual Variable Valve Timing (Dual VVT) and Idle Start-Stop (ISS) technology. In petrol mode, the engine produces 82.93 PS at 5,700 rpm and 112.4 Nm at 4,500 rpm. In CNG mode, it produces 69.75 PS at 5,700 rpm and 101.8 Nm at 2,900 rpm.
Maruti Dzire CNG AMT — India's most fuel-efficient sedan
Maruti claims the Dzire is India's most fuel-efficient sedan, with the 1.2-litre Z-Series engine offered with both petrol and CNG powertrains. The petrol AMT version claims 26.13 km/l, while the petrol manual returns 25.15 km/l. For the CNG versions, the manual claims 35.63 km/kg, while the CNG AMT delivers 36.47 km/kg.

Maruti Dzire CNG AMT tank size and practical trade-offs
The Dzire CNG AMT gets a 55-litre CNG tank based on water filling capacity, placed inside the boot. The tank takes up some luggage space, which is a common trade-off with CNG cars. The car also gets a retuned suspension to handle the added weight of the CNG system. It comes with a CNG fuel level indicator and a fuel switch to change between CNG and petrol. The Dzire CNG AMT is available in the VXi and ZXi variants.

The new Maruti Dzire CNG AMT variants are priced Rs 35,000 higher than their equivalent CNG manual trims. The VXi CNG AMT costs Rs 8.53 lakh, compared with Rs 8.18 lakh for the VXi CNG MT, while the ZXi CNG AMT is priced at Rs 9.54 lakh against Rs 9.19 lakh for the ZXi CNG MT. This gives buyers the convenience of an automatic gearbox with a relatively small premium over the manual CNG versions.
