Outline

Kia India has implemented price hikes across its mainstream passenger vehicle portfolio from 1 July 2026. The company had pre-announced a revision of up to 2% in June 2026, and those prices are now in effect. The affected models are the Sonet, Seltos, and Carens Clavis. The hikes vary significantly by model, powertrain, and variant, ranging from a few thousand rupees to a maximum of Rs 32,500 on the Seltos diesel. Rising commodity and logistics costs are the primary reason Kia has cited for the revision.

The 1.0-litre turbo petrol variants get hikes ranging from Rs 3,300 to Rs 8,300. The 1.5-litre turbo diesel variants see the highest hike within the Sonet range at up to Rs 18,400, though some diesel variants have not received any increase.

The 1.5-litre turbo petrol and turbo diesel variants see hikes between Rs 8,110 and Rs 8,200. The Clavis was recently refreshed with sportier front and rear bumpers and fog lamps.

The Seltos is the model most significantly affected by this July revision. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol variants see increases of up to Rs 30,500, though some variants within this range remain unchanged. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol range also sees hikes of up to Rs 30,500 on most configurations, with some variants untouched. The turbo diesel Seltos sees the steepest increases of between Rs 18,500 and Rs 32,500. Kia noted that the Seltos carries the highest price hikes in the July revision, consistent with it being the brand's flagship current ICE offering in India.

What is next for Kia India

Beyond the current price revision, Kia India is preparing a new flagship SUV in the form of the Sorento, which has been spotted testing in India on multiple occasions. The Sorento is expected to be locally manufactured with high levels of localisation, which would help it compete on pricing with other three-row SUVs. Kia is also bringing the Syros EV and working on introducing a strong hybrid powertrain with the Seltos.
