In a recent interaction, Rajesh Jejurikar, executive director and CEO of Mahindra’s auto and farm sector, revealed plans to introduce new variants to the XEV 9e and BE 6 range, thereby making the options more attainable than before. A new media report now reveals the new variants for the XEV 9e electric SUV, which are said to be launched soon. Read the story further to know more about the upcoming Mahindra XEV 9e variants.

Mahindra XEV 9e upcoming variants

As per an exclusive report from 91Wheels, Mahindra is set to add new variants to the XEV 9e range. The XEV 9e is already available in a total of four variants — Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three with only the latter being offered with the 79kWh battery pack while others come with the 59kWh. Mahindra is reportedly set to add two new variants — Pack Three 59kWh and Pack Three Select 79kWh. The introduction of these new variants will increase the options for the buyers, in different price segments.

The Pack Three 59kWh is likely to offer the fully-kitted experience to the customers, at a relatively lower price compared to the Pack Three 79kWh. The Pack Three Select 79kWh, on the other hand, is likely to match the feature list of the Pack Three Select variant, albeit with the benefit of better range, thanks to the larger 79kWh battery pack over the standard 59kWh. These new variants will help buyers prioritise the selection on their needs, giving a large variety of options.

Mahindra XEV 9e AWD option launch soon

As reported by V3Cars, Mahindra is said to be working on an all-wheel-drive version of the XEV 9e, as an answer to the upcoming Tata Harrier EV. Mahindra has already revealed that its INGLO platform—the one that underpins its born electric SUVs—is capable of hosting two electric motors, thereby enabling all-wheel-drive. Once launched, the XEV 9e will go against the likes of the recently-launched Tata Harrier EV.

With the introduction of the XEV 9e AWD, we do not expect any big change in terms of performance and driving range, however, small changes are likely. On the other hand, the Mahindra XEV 9e equipped with AWD could boast certain features like terrain modes and a transparent bonnet feature, like seen in the Harrier EV.
