The much-awaited Maruti Baleno Bharat NCAP safety rating is finally here. This test was done on the 2024 Baleno, with the results split between the 2-airbag trims (Sigma and Delta) and the 6-airbag trims (Zeta and Alpha). What’s surprising is that both versions received a 4-star rating in adult occupant protection and a 3-star rating in child occupant protection. Let’s take a closer look at the Maruti Suzuki Baleno crash test results under Bharat NCAP and see what they reveal.

Even in child occupant protection, which includes the dynamic test, CRS installation, and vehicle assessment, the 6-airbag Baleno got the same scores as the 2-airbag version.

Both the 2-airbag and 6-airbag versions of the Baleno have shown nearly the same results in the crash test, with only minor differences. If we leave out the airbag count, all variants come with a same set of standard safety features like ESP with hill hold, reverse parking sensors, high-speed alert system, 3-point ELR seat belts for all passengers, seat belt reminders for all seats, brake assist, seatbelt pre-tensioners with force limiters, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats. The 6-airbag Baleno, apart from having more airbags, also gets a few extras like a rearview camera and a 360-degree view camera.

New 2025 Maruti Baleno likely to get six airbags soon

The 2025 Maruti Baleno received some minor updates on the inside and outside, but there were no changes made on the safety front. It continues to be offered with same set of safety features as before. However, since the carmaker has now updated all its Arena models with 6 airbags as standard, it's expected that this change could also be introduced to all the NEXA models sooner or later.
