Maruti Brezza facelift engine And Transmission Options Explained
The most significant mechanical update to the 2026 Brezza is the introduction of a 1.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, which produces 110hp and 170Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired exclusively with a manual gearbox and is available across all four variants, from the entry-level LXi to the top-spec ZXi+.
The existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine continues in the line-up, producing 103hp and 139Nm. This engine can be had with either a manual or automatic transmission, though the automatic is only available in VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ trims.
For buyers wanting a CNG option, Maruti Suzuki continues to offer a factory-fitted CNG kit on the 1.5-litre engine, spanning the LXi, VXi and ZXi variants. In CNG mode, output drops to 88hp and 121.5Nm, though the engine retains its full 103hp and 139Nm output when running on petrol.
A key transmission update across the range is the replacement of the earlier 5-speed manual gearbox with a new 6-speed manual unit, standard on both the turbo and naturally aspirated petrol variants. The 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, meanwhile, remains exclusive to the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and is not offered with the new turbo-petrol motor.
