The upcoming Skoda Kodiaq RS has been spotted undisguised on public roads in Mumbai, offering a clear look at what will be Skoda Auto India's first RS-badged SUV. The test vehicle was finished in red and featured several gloss black exterior elements that highlight its sportier character.
The undisguised sighting suggests the SUV is in the final stages of testing ahead of its launch. Skoda has already opened bookings for the Kodiaq RS, with deliveries expected to begin soon after its official introduction.
Upcoming Skoda Kodiaq spotted with RS-specific exterior design
The Skoda Kodiaq RS features several RS-specific design elements that set it apart from the standard Kodiaq. These include redesigned front and rear bumpers, along with prominent RS badging on the front fascia. The revised bumper design gives the SUV a more aggressive appearance.

The test vehicle was finished in red with extensive gloss black detailing. Black-finished ORVMs and roof rails further enhance the sporty look, while the contrast between the red bodywork and black exterior elements adds to its visual appeal. Red-painted brake callipers, visible behind the alloy wheels, further highlight the Kodiaq RS identity.
Lighting technology and wheel specification
The Kodiaq RS comes equipped with LED matrix headlights that can automatically adjust their beam pattern based on driving conditions and surrounding traffic. The system includes a glare-free high beam function, which selectively dims sections of the beam when oncoming vehicles are detected, helping improve visibility without dazzling other road users.

The SUV also features 19-inch alloy wheels, similar to those offered on the Octavia RS. Compared to the standard Kodiaq, the larger wheels contribute to a sportier appearance and are expected to support the RS model's performance-oriented character.
Skoda Kodiaq RS interior
Inside, the Kodiaq RS is expected to feature RS-specific updates over the standard Kodiaq. These are likely to include sport seats, unique trim elements, RS branding, distinct interior colour accents, and a revised steering wheel design. While the full interior has not yet been revealed, test vehicles have offered an early look at some of these changes.
Skoda Kodiaq RS engine and performance
The Kodiaq RS will be powered by Volkswagen Group's 2.0-litre TSI Evo turbo-petrol engine, producing 265PS and 400Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system as standard. Compared to the previous-generation Kodiaq RS, output has increased by 20PS.

Performance figures are equally impressive, with the SUV capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 231 km/h. This will make the Kodiaq RS the fastest Skoda model currently headed for the Indian market.
Skoda Kodiaq RS launch timeline and booking status

Bookings for the Kodiaq RS are already open, with the launch expected to take place soon. It will compete with models such as the Jeep Meridian, Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, and Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line. While these SUVs target a similar premium segment, none carries the dedicated performance-focused identity associated with Skoda's RS badge.
The undisguised sighting on public roads suggests the SUV is in the final stages of testing and validation before its official introduction. For prospective buyers, these latest images provide the clearest look yet at India's first RS-badged SUV, confirming many of its key design elements ahead of the launch.
