Tata Altroz CNG AMT launch soon — One of a kind
- 1Tata Altroz AMT CNG launch likely soon
- 2To share its CNG AMT powertrain with the Tiago/Tigor CNG AMT
- 3Fuel efficiency likely to remain unaffected with AMT
Tata Motors recently launched the updated Altroz facelift with its prices starting from Rs 6.89 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi. Among everything that’s new, Tata Motors also added a 5-speed AMT transmission option to the Altroz range, which was earlier missing. The AMT is only offered with the petrol engine but a new media report suggests that the Tata Altroz CNG AMT will be launched soon. Read the story further to know more about the Tata Altroz CNG AMT.
Tata Altroz CNG AMT — One of a kind value proposition
The Tata Altroz is set to be the only premium hatchback in the market to offer a CNG option with the choice of an AMT. It is also the only premium hatchback currently on sale to offer two automatic transmission options — AMT and DCT. The AMT transmission is aimed at first time buyers and increases volumes for the carmaker whereas the DCT is targeted to those who seek a sophisticated driving experience. With the introduction of AMT to the CNG powertrain, this will present a unique value proposition to the AMT buyers in the market.

On the powertrain front, the Altroz CNG AMT will make use of the same powertrain that powers the Tiago and Tigor CNG AMT. Its 1.2-litre engine puts out 73.5PS of power and 103Nm of torque in the CNG mode. Since the Altroz CNG also packs a dual-CNG cylinder configuration, it also manages to offer practical boot space, something that its competition fails to offer.
Tata Altroz interior features
The Tata Altoz facelift features an all-new dashboard, featuring a layered layout with multiple colour palettes. The upper part of the dashboard features gold inserts along with a golden leatherette finish for the steering wheel. On the features front, the Altroz facelift features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital driver’s display, electric sunroof and surround view camera. Other changes on the inside include a new gear selector and new layout for the AC controls.
