Outline

The Nissan Magnite is one of the most-affordable compact SUVs in its segment and being affordable is not its downside, since the Magnite manages to offer a great balance between affordability and functionality. The Magnite has been a popular SUV since its launch and Nissan is soon to bring a facelift for the same. In this article, we share the top 5 changes we would want to see in the upcoming Nissan Magnite facelift.

Fresher Design

We are not saying that the Magnite has started to look dated; it is actually one of the best looking compact SUVs to date. However, with time, the Magnite has started to lose its flair to the newly-updated models like the Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet, which not only look fresher but a lot more premium as well. With the facelift, we would want Nissan to further amp up the styling of the Magnite and also add LED tail lights, a feature that is sorely missed in the current model.

More Premium Interior

The interior of the Nissan Magnite is great to look at, with its Urus-inspired AC vents and toggle-button-like HVAC controls. However, it falls a bit short when it comes to the quality. The plastics rattle and the panel do not quite align properly. With the facelift, we expect Nissan to improve the fit and finish levels and also the overall quality of plastics used inside the cabin.

Better Refinement

Having not-so-impressive NVH level is a common trait of 3-cylinder engines. However, the Nissan Magnite is one of the worst in its segment when it comes to the overall NVH levels. The engine transfers a lot of noise and vibrations into the cabin that can be felt on the steering wheel, gear lever and even the seats. We would like Nissan to work on the NVH levels of both the petrol engines of the Magnite.

Tuning For Better Fuel Efficiency

The Nissan Magnite turbo petrol CVT is an absolute riot to drive. The CVT is quick to choose from an innumerous range of ratios and pulls hard from get go. You will never have a dull moment driving the Nissan Magnite CVT. However, its responsiveness does take a toll on the fuel efficiency. We would like Nissan to tune the CVT for better fuel efficiency for city use, while a dedicated sports mode can retain the unhinged nature of the powertrain.

Lighter Steering Wheel

The steering wheel of the Magnite feels unnecessarily heavy inside the city, thereby making the roundabouts and u-turns cumbersome. The units we have tested in the past also produced a strange sound when going lock to lock on the steering, which also should be fixed with the launch of the Magnite facelift.
