Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced the Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Black Edition, a limited-edition styling package that adds several black exterior elements to the SUV. It is available on select G and V grades with both Neo Drive and Strong Hybrid powertrains.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Black Edition — what the package includes

The Aero Black Edition mainly gets styling changes to give the Hyryder a darker and sportier look. It adds black elements to the front, including a grille garnish, front spoiler and headlamp garnish. At the rear, there is a black tailgate garnish and rear spoiler, along with an exclusive 'Aero Black' badge. These changes are only cosmetic, with no updates to the engine, hybrid system or other mechanical parts.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Black styling package is priced at Rs 31,999 and is available on the Midnight Black G and V grades. Buyers can choose it with both the Neo Drive petrol and Strong Hybrid powertrains. Since it is a limited-edition package, availability will depend on stock. Toyota dealers are also offering an additional All Black Package at extra cost for buyers who want more blacked-out elements on the SUV.

Powertrain options

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is available with both Strong Hybrid and petrol powertrain options. The Strong Hybrid version combines a petrol engine with an electric motor. Its battery charges automatically while driving through the engine and regenerative braking, so it does not need to be plugged in like an EV. It has a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.97 km/l.

For buyers who prefer a regular petrol setup, the Neo Drive version gets a 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. It is also available with both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder features 

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder comes with features such as twin LED daytime running lights, a Crystal Acrylic grille and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it gets ventilated leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, ambient lighting and a 360-degree camera.

Other useful features include reclining rear seats, rear AC vents, USB charging ports and a 60:40 split rear seat. This allows one side of the rear seat to be folded to carry longer items while the other side can still be used by a passenger.

Ownership and warranty coverage

Toyota offers the Hyryder with a 3-year or 100,000km warranty, which can be extended to 5 years or 220,000km. The Strong Hybrid system gets a separate warranty of 8 years or 160,000km. The longer hybrid warranty gives buyers added peace of mind, especially since the Strong Hybrid has additional electric components. Along with the choice of petrol and hybrid powertrains, the warranty coverage adds to the Hyryder's overall ownership appeal.
