Ahead of its July 24 launch, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift's engine details and ARAI-certified mileage figures have surfaced online. The leaked figures reveal the claimed fuel efficiency of every powertrain and also offer the first look at how the new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine compares with the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in terms of efficiency.
Upcoming Maruti Brezza facelift variant-wise engine and gearbox options revealed

Ahead of the Brezza facelift's launch, leaked reports have also revealed the complete variant-wise engine and gearbox lineup. The updated SUV is expected to continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and CNG options, while adding a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine to the range.

The leaked configuration highlights two important changes. The automatic gearbox remains available only from the VXI variant onwards, while the base LXI continues with manual transmission options only. More importantly, the new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is expected to be offered across all variants, from the entry-level LXI to the top-spec ZXI+, instead of being restricted to higher trims.

The leaked reports also reveal the engine specifications of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift. It is expected to continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine while introducing a new 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet engine. The CNG version is also expected to continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and a manual gearbox.
Compared to the 1.5-litre petrol engine, the new turbo unit produces 7 PS more power and 31 Nm more torque. It will be offered only with a manual gearbox, while the 1.5-litre engine will continue with manual, automatic and CNG options.

The 1.5-litre automatic is rated at 20.18 kmpl, while the CNG version remains the most efficient option with a claimed 26.55 kmpkg.
