Volkswagen India has launched the Tayron Life, a five-seater premium SUV priced at Rs 41.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the second locally assembled Volkswagen model to be launched in India this year.
The VW Tayron Life joins the brand's SUV lineup, which includes the Taigun, Tiguan R-Line, Tayron R-Line, and the Virtus sedan. Speaking on the launch, Nitin Kohli, Brand Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said the Tayron Life reflects the company's focus on bringing global products tailored for Indian buyers and marks Volkswagen's third product launch of the year.

The Volkswagen Tayron Life measures 4,792 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,789 mm. The SUV offers 885 litres of boot space, which expands to 2,090 litres with the rear seats folded. Instead of a seven-seat layout, Volkswagen has positioned the Tayron Life as a premium five-seater.
Volkswagen Tayron Life engine and performance
The Volkswagen Tayron Life is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and Volkswagen's 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. The engine produces 204 PS and 320 Nm of torque. Suspension duties are handled by a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear. The SUV also offers six drive modes, Eco, Comfort, Sport, Individual, Off-road, and Snow, to suit different driving and road conditions.

The Volkswagen Tayron Life follows the brand's latest design language with a clean and premium look. At the front, it gets full LED headlamps connected by an illuminated light bar, an illuminated Volkswagen logo, and a body-coloured bumper with a silver skid-style insert. Other exterior highlights include black roof rails, illuminated door handles, projection lights integrated into the ORVMs, and 18-inch Bologna diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV features 3D LED tail lamps connected by a full-width light bar with an illuminated Volkswagen badge.

Inside, the Volkswagen Tayron Life features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with an eight-speaker audio system. It supports wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a dual wireless phone charger.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel comes with paddle shifters, while the front ergoActive seats offer 12-way electric adjustment, lumbar support, ventilation, heating, massage function, and extendable thigh support. Other highlights include three-zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents with independent temperature controls, keyless entry and push-button start, retractable rear sun blinds, and second-row seats with slide and recline functions. The front passenger seat can also be adjusted by the driver through the infotainment system.

On the safety front, the Volkswagen Tayron Life comes equipped with nine airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill start assist, hill descent control, electronic stability control (ESC), and an electronic differential lock. It also gets Level 2 ADAS with 14 features, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, park assist, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, rear traffic alert, exit warning, driver drowsiness detection, and automatic high beam assist.
