Jammu and Kashmir RTO vehicle information: Check vehicle details by number plate

The state of Jammu and Kashmir is an Indian state in the northern part of the country. Jammu and Kashmir comprises a population of approximately 1.56 crore people, and has a total of 22 RTOs in its 20 districts to aid the people with vehicle registrations, allotment of learners and permanent driving licences, and more. The Jammu and Kashmir RTOs are responsible for ensuring that the rules and regulations mentioned in the Indian Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 are followed throughout the state.

Jammu and Kashmir Vehicle Registration Process

Registration of a new vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir requires you to visit the RTO with your vehicle, along with the following forms and documents:

1. Application in Form 20

2. Sales certificate in Form 21

3. Road worthiness certificate in Form 22 from the manufacturers (Form 22A from the Body builder)

4. Pollution under control certificate

5. Valid insurance certificate

6. Proof of address (Ration card, Electricity bill etc.)

7. Customs clearance certificate along with licence, and bond in case of imported vehicle

8. Temporary registration, if any

9. Form 34 (in case of HP endorsement)

10. Copy of PAN card of Form 60 and Form 61 (as applicable)

11. Dealer and manufacturer invoice

12. Passport size photographs

13. Proof of Date of Birth

14. Chassis & Engine Pencil Print

15. Form-A under Taxation Act, 1997
