The Volkswagen Polo has often been rated as the best mini-car doing the rounds in Australia. The only trouble is it's getting less mini as time goes on.
Volkswagen’s entry-level model in Australia is now the size of a Mk 4 Golf, which is the small car VW was selling when the Polo first landed here in the 1990s.
The good news is the increase in size has brought more space for passengers (obviously) and more room to fit lots more equipment. A mini-car no longer means skimping on safety or comfort equipment.
One thing that has remained true through the generations is the Volkswagen Polo’s driving manners. It is a very neat drive wherever its nose may be pointed. Of course, the Polo GTI is a pocket rocket that adds some verve to the equation.
