Toyota Kirloskar Motor has started customer deliveries of the new ninth-generation Hilux in India. Six-time World Champion and Olympic medallist M.C. Toyota linked Mary Kom's achievements with the Hilux's focus on strength and durability. The company has not shared the total booking or delivery numbers yet. However, it says the Hilux has received a strong response since its launch on 28 July 2026. Deliveries have started ahead of the festive and travel season in India.
The most comprehensive Hilux update & features
The new Hilux gets its biggest update since it was introduced in India. Toyota has redesigned the pickup with its global "Tough & Agile" design theme. It gets a more upright front end, bold "TOYOTA" lettering on the grille, sharper LED headlamps and a new front bumper. The rear also gets new LED tail lamps.
The cabin gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car features, wireless charging and a 360-degree camera.
The pickup is built on Toyota's Global Outstanding Assessment (GOA) body structure. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS with Brake Assist, Emergency Brake Signal, ISOFIX child seat mounts, front seatbelts with pretensioners and force limiters, speed-sensing auto door locks and an anti-theft alarm, among others.
2026 Toyota Hilux colour options

The all-new Toyota Hilux is available in six exterior colours: Super White, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black+, Emotional Red, and two newly introduced shades, Sulphur Metallic and Ash. However, Sulphur Metallic and Attitude Black+ are reserved exclusively for the range-topping VX 4X4 grade.
New-gen Toyota Hilux diesel engine carries over
Toyota has kept the existing diesel engine for the India-spec Hilux. It continues with a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 204 PS and up to 500 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Four-wheel drive is standard on the top-spec VX variant and available as an option on the GX trim. The new Hilux also gets features such as Multi Terrain Select and Downhill Assist Control for off-road use.

The Isuzu V-Cross remains the Hilux's main rival in India's lifestyle pickup segment. However, the segment could see more competition soon. Mahindra has unveiled the Scorpio Lifestyler, its new lifestyle pickup, which is expected to launch in India in 2027 at a price well below the Hilux.
