Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the updated Innova Crysta in India, and the 2026 refresh adds exactly what the model needed to stay relevant. Twenty-one years after the original Innova arrived in India, this latest version gets a sharper face, a more premium cabin theme, and a couple of useful features that buyers have been asking for. Prices start at Rs 19.72 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base GX 7-seater and go up to Rs 26.63 lakh for the top-spec ZX variant.

2026 Toyota Innova Crysta exterior — What has changed on the outside

The biggest visual update on the 2026 Toyota Innova Crysta is at the front. The MPV gets a redesigned radiator grille that looks bolder and more upright than before. Toyota has also updated the front and rear bumpers with new garnish elements to freshen up the overall appearance.

Beyond these changes, the Crysta retains its familiar silhouette, with Toyota choosing to refine rather than completely redesign the MPV. Buyers can choose from five exterior colours: Platinum White Pearl, Super White, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, and the new Avant-Garde Bronze Metallic.

The cabin is where the 2026 Crysta feels most noticeably different. Toyota has introduced new dual-tone leather seat upholstery across trims, and the interior theme now revolves around Grace Copper accents on the instrument panel, door trims, and bezels. Wood-pattern highlights add warmth to the cabin, while the AC controls, switches, and rear seat back table have also been refreshed for better visual quality. The overall effect is a cabin that feels more deliberate and contemporary, without departing from the practical, function-first layout that Innova buyers have always appreciated.

On the features front, Toyota has added two things that have been conspicuously absent on older Crysta variants: a wireless charger and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). These are additions that address real everyday needs, particularly for a vehicle that regularly covers long distances.

New Toyota Innova Crysta powertrain and safety

Mechanically, the Innova Crysta stays the course. The 2.4-litre diesel engine, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, continues to power the vehicle. It produces 148bhp and 343Nm of torque and returns a certified fuel efficiency of up to 15 kmpl. The engine's low-end torque delivery remains one of its strengths, especially when the vehicle is carrying a full load of passengers.

Safety specification is also unchanged, and remains comprehensive for the segment. The 2026 Crysta comes with 7 airbags as standard, alongside ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Hill Start Assist Control. These are not just box-ticking features for this vehicle. Given how often the Crysta is used for intercity travel, the safety hardware genuinely matters.

Commenting on the update, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President of Sales, Service and Used Car Business at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, noted that the Innova brand has crossed 1.3 million sales in India, with the 2026 update aimed at building on that success while meeting changing customer expectations.
