- 1India-spec GLC Electric will be offered in 400 4Matic guise
- 2It will be assembled at Mercedes-Benz’s Chakan plant near Pune
- 3GLC Electric gets a 94kWh battery and dual-motor AWD setup
Mercedes-Benz India has opened bookings for the GLC Electric across its dealership network, ahead of its confirmed launch on 4 November 2026. The India-spec model will be offered in the 400 4Matic guise and will be assembled locally at Mercedes-Benz's Chakan plant near Pune. Local assembly could help the brand price the SUV more competitively than a fully imported model.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric battery, range and performance

Internationally, the GLC Electric 400 4Matic comes with a 94kWh battery pack that offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 715km. The battery powers a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that produces a combined 490hp and 800Nm. This allows the SUV to accelerate from 0-100km/h in a claimed 4.3 seconds, which is a strong figure for a vehicle weighing around 2.5 tonnes. DC fast charging is supported at up to 330kW, and Mercedes-Benz says it can add up to 300km of range in just 10 minutes. International versions also get 4.5-degree rear-axle steering and air suspension as standard.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric design
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric gets a large, rounded grille with illuminated elements, along with tri-star-shaped LED daytime running lamps and projector LED headlights. The side profile is fairly clean, with alloy wheels measuring up to 21 inches, flush-fitting door handles and slim wheel-arch cladding. At the rear, the star-shaped LED tail lights feature circular outlines and are connected by a gloss-black trim panel. The front gets an illuminated Mercedes logo, while the rear features a solid 3D badge. Internationally, an AMG Line variant is also available with a sportier grille and different alloy wheel designs.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric interior and features

Inside, the upcoming GLC Electric gets a large 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which Mercedes-Benz says is the biggest display it has fitted to a production car. It combines the driver's display, central touchscreen and dedicated passenger display into one continuous unit. The system runs on the brand's fourth-generation MBUX software and also gets a built-in AI assistant. Unlike many electric cars that rely almost entirely on touch controls, the GLC Electric retains physical controls on the steering wheel and centre console. The SUV can seat five passengers.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric expected price and rivals
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric is expected to be priced between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 90 lakh, ex-showroom. Its closest rival will be the BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase, which is expected to launch in India sometime in 2027. This could give Mercedes-Benz an early advantage in the growing segment of locally assembled luxury electric SUVs.
