Hyundai to hike car prices from June 1, 2026, by up to Rs 12,800
- 1Hyundai price hike effective June 1, 2026
- 2Maximum increase of Rs 12,800 depending on model and variant
- 3Rising input costs, commodity prices and operational expenses cited as reasons
Hyundai has confirmed a price hike across its entire India lineup from June 1, 2026, with prices set to increase by up to Rs 12,800 depending on the model and variant. This marks Hyundai’s second price revision in just the last two months. It is also the fourth time the carmaker has increased prices in 2026 so far.
Why is Hyundai raising prices?

In an official statement, Hyundai said the price hike is linked to rising input costs, higher commodity prices, and increasing operational expenses. The company added that it has been trying to absorb a large part of these costs internally, but a partial increase has now become necessary.
This is also part of a wider trend across the auto industry. Over the past few months, several carmakers have announced similar price hikes as production and logistics costs continue to rise. Ongoing tensions in Gulf regions have further added pressure on global shipping and transport routes, affecting overall supply chain costs.
Which Hyundai models will be affected?

The hike will apply across Hyundai's full portfolio of 10 models currently on sale in India. Here is the current pricing before the June 1 increase:
| Model | Current Price Range (ex-showroom) |
|---|---|
| Grand i10 Nios | Rs 5.55 lakh to Rs 7.92 lakh |
| Aura | Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8.54 lakh |
| i20 | Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 11.53 lakh |
| Exter | Rs 5.80 lakh to Rs 9.42 lakh |
| Venue | Rs 8 lakh to Rs 15.40 lakh |
| Creta | Rs 10.79 lakh to Rs 20.20 lakh |
| Verna | Rs 10.98 lakh to Rs 18.25 lakh |
| Alcazar | Rs 14.50 lakh to Rs 21.06 lakh |
| Creta Electric | Rs 18.02 lakh to Rs 24.40 lakh |
| Ioniq 5 | Rs 55.70 lakh |
Model-specific breakdowns of exactly how much each variant will increase by are yet to be officially shared by the company. The ceiling, however, is Rs 12,800.
Should you buy before June 1?
If you’re already in the process of buying a Hyundai, getting the delivery before June 1 could save you a small amount, anywhere from a few thousand rupees up to about Rs 12,800 depending on the variant. That said, this isn’t a very large saving in the bigger picture, so it shouldn’t be the main reason to rush your decision.
Hyundai isn’t the only one increasing prices either. Maruti Suzuki has also announced a hike of up to Rs 30,000 from June 2026, which points to a broader trend across the industry driven mainly by rising input and operational costs.
