5 Best Compact SUVs Launching In India In 2022

The popularity of SUVs shows no signs of waning, with a slew of new models set to debut in 2022. Every manufacturer wants a foothold in this market, and the public is spoiled for choice.

Here is the list of the five best compact SUVs (crossovers) launching in India in 2022.

1. 2022 Outlander sport

2022 Mitsubishi Outlander sport

Excitement and efficiency: that’s the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in a nutshell. The standard 20-inch wheels and LED headlights afford increased visibility. Noise and vibration reduction and the double-pane windshield create a secure interior. This spacious model has a power panoramic sunroof, enlarged doorways, and a cargo capacity of 33.5 cubic feet. An active Blind Spot Assist, rear Automatic Emergency Braking, front collision mitigation with pedestrian recognition, and a multi-view camera system are among the many safety and driver-assist systems available, in addition to 11 airbags.

2. New Jeep SUB-4m SUV 2022

Jeep India enters the sub-four-meter market with the first SUV in the segment to use an all-wheel-drive system. With an iconic front grille, LED headlights, daytime running lamps, and taillights, it is likely to retain the rough appearance of a Jeep. This SUV uses the same CMP (Common Modular Platform) as the new Citroen C3 hatchback and other mid-size and luxury hatchbacks and sedans.

It is likely to have a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine with a power output of around 100 horsepower. This SUV will come with a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, push-button start, and rear AC vents, as well as other safety features such as EBD, ABS, front airbags, and rear parking sensors.

3. The New Maruti Vitara Brezza

The new Maruti Vitara Brezza will be a standout model with several luxury features never seen on a Maruti vehicle. The new external and interior design includes a flat-bottom steering wheel, paddle shifters, and an electric sunroof, giving it a more athletic vibe. The new Brezza will replace the out-of-date Smart play Studio and upgrade to a wireless connection for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Maruti may add more advanced connected vehicle technologies to the Brezza in 2022. Remote engine start/stop, temperature control, and lighting control are all features that would help it catch up to the competition.

4. Kia Carens

Kia Carens, the three-row crossover, is poised to fill the massive void in India’s domestic MPV market at the moment, after the Seltos, Carnival, and Sonet. As its name suggests, this is truly the Car-Renaissance. In India, the Kia Carens will be the first vehicle to use the company’s new design concept, ‘Opposites United.’ The Tiger Face logo outside is accompanied by LED headlights with daytime running lamps. The SUV-like posture of Carens is very evident in the side profile. The Kia Carens will have a 1.4 turbocharged petrol engine, a 7-speed Dual Clutch transmission, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine with a 6-speed torque converter.

5. New 2022 Toyota Raize

Toyota Raize

The Raize is an e-Smart hybrid vehicle that functions similarly to Nissan’s e-Power hybrid system. It retains a lithium-ion battery pack under the seats, charged by the 1.2 L normally aspirated three-cylinder engine. Compact packaging and a smaller, more cost-effective 4.3 Ah lithium-ion battery are among the advantages of this system. It has a remarkable fuel economy number of 28 km per liter (3.6 liters per 100 km) on the WLTP cycle. An electric motor with 106 PS and 170 Nm of torque drives the front wheels. It comes with the Smart Pedal (S-PDL) system that allows one-pedal operation, making driving easier. The Raize also has an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold. The stop and go feature allows for a stress-free driving experience.
