Skoda, the Czech automobile manufacturer, first came to India in 2001 with the intention to sell cars that offer fuel efficiency and affordability as their primary selling points. As compared to the previous model, the car will feature a new bumper along with a remodeled air dam. The fog lamps are also in a new position with stylish headlamps replacing the old ones beside a new bulkier grille. In the rear, the 2019 Superb was spotted sporting new tail lights along with a more curved bumper. The interiors of the car should remain the same as before with a few additions making it including, a 360-degree camera, a digital instrument cluster, and a virtual cockpit. Powering the vehicle are the same 2.0L diesel and 1.8L petrol engines that are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission on the diesel variant, and a 6-speed manual, or 7-speed DSG automatic transmission on the petrol variant.

As mentioned earlier, the Octavia was the first Skoda car and one of the most pre-owned cars to launch in India almost two decades ago. The fourth-gen Octavia is expected to be launched sometime in 2020 and could have a myriad of features that propel it back to the top. While on test runs, the car was spotted with a redesigned look – both outside and inside. The new model seems to be sporting new singular headlamps rather than the split design it currently has. Even the tail lights have a new design as does the front and rear bumpers. As per the images, it looks like the interior of the car features modernised controls, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and a digital dashboard. In terms of the powertrain, the 2020 Octavia is expected to have a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine as well as a 2.0L turbocharged petrol one. There could also be a 2.0L diesel variant and an Indian targeted 1.5L petrol-CNG option.

Designed and expected to go up against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and the Jeep Compass, the Skoda Karoq will be the replacement for Skoda Yeti. This mid-size SUV was first announced in May, 2017 and will sit just below the higher-spec Kodiaq. Some of the features that will be available on the Karoq include a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Virtual Cockpit with a 12.3-inch TFT screen, ambient lights, panoramic sunroof, Wi-Fi, and bright LED headlamps. The Karoq is expected to come with six different powertrains but the Indian model should feature a 1.5L TSi EVO petrol turbocharged engine and a 2.0L TDi diesel engine. Both variants should come with 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic transmission options. Given the fact that Skoda has already captured the Indian market by offering performance-based vehicles at relatively affordable prices, these upcoming cars should definitely turn a few heads and prompt a few RC transfers. Skoda might not have a lot of experience, in terms of time, in India, but they more than make up for it in what they have to offer to the public. With release dates soon approaching, it might be time to check out a used car evaluation tool to help you get your hands on a new Skoda car.
