Transmission 6-Speed Manual, 7-Speed DSG

Originally unveiled back in 2018, the Skoda Scala is finally ready to make its way onto Indian roads this year. Considered to be a mini-SUV, the Scala has a very stylish body and design with a sloping roofline and sharp curves across the entire car. Inside, the Scala looks and feels like the Octavia and carries a premium feel to it. Under the hood, the Scala will come with a 1.5L TSI-petrol engine that will generate 150Ps of power and 250Nm of torque. Skoda is also expected to offer 1.0L petrol engine that will either generate 95Ps of power with 175Nm of torque or 115Ps of power and 200Nm of torque. There could also be a 1.6L diesel engine on offer that produces 115Ps and 250Nm. Lastly, the Scala could come with a 1.0L CNG engine that generates 90Ps of power and 145Nm of torque. All the engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG transmission setup. In the safety department, the Scala will come with ABS with EBD, lane assist, 9 airbags, parking assist camera, and hands-free parking. Some of the features available in the Scala will include a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Skoda Kamiq

Expected Launch 15 December, 2020
Engine 1.0L Petrol, CNG
Transmission Manual, DSG

The Skoda Kamiq is one of the most anticipated SUVs in the country thanks to its Volkswagen Group engineered MBQ A0 platform and its expected affordable pricing. The already in-use MBQ A0-platform CNG engines used in Europe are helping to decrease CO2 and NOx emissions by 25 and 75 percent respectively as compared to the regular petrol engines. Under the hood of the upcoming Kamiq, Skoda is expected to house a 1.0L TSI petrol engine which will either produce 95Ps of power along with 175Nm of torque or 115Ps of power and 200Nm of torque. There might also be the option for a 1.0L TGI engine that is capable of generating 90Ps of power and 160Nm of torque. While the TSI engine will be mated to both manual and DSG gearboxes, the TGI variant will only be available with a 6-speed manual transmission system. Skoda and Volkswagen are currently testing the CNG variants of the Kamiq and if things do go well, they could introduce the eco-friendly variants in the country as well.

Skoda kodiaq 2020

Expected Launch 15 December, 2020
Engine 2.0L Petrol
Transmission 7-Speed Automatic

Skoda experienced a lot of success when they first released the Kodiaq and now the facelifted variant is gathering a lot of excitement as well. The kodiaq 2020 retains the design found on the previous iteration with a few subtle changes. The body now comes with sharper lines and a new sleeker look to it. The front grille, headlamps, and rear of the car are still the same while the interior of the car comes with some upgrades to the instrument cluster and infotainment system. Powering the new kodiaq 2020 will be a 2.0L petrol engine that is expected to generate 190Ps of power and 320Nm of torque. The 7-seater SUV will be mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission system that will also come with All-Wheel-Drive. In terms of safety, the kodiaq 2020 is expected to feature 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, and parking assistance. Not a lot has been discussed about the kodiaq 2020, but we should get some information in the coming months.

Skoda Octavia 2020

Expected Launch 10 January, 2021
Engine 1.5L Petrol, 2.0L Diesel
Transmission 6-Speed Manual, 7-Speed DSG

As mentioned earlier, the Octavia was the first Skoda car and one of the most pre-owned cars to launch in India almost two decades ago. The fourth-gen Octavia is expected to be launched in January, 2021 and could have a myriad of features that propel it back to the top. While on test runs, the car was spotted with a redesigned look – both outside and inside. The new model seems to be sporting new singular headlamps rather than the split design it currently has. Even the tail lights have a new design as do the front and rear bumpers. As per the images, it looks like the interior of the car features modernised controls, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and a digital dashboard. In terms of the powertrain, the 2020 Octavia is expected to have a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine as well as a 2.0L diesel one. Both engines will be made available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission system as options.

Skoda Vision IN

Expected Launch 15 April, 2021
Engine 1.0L Turbo-Petrol
Transmission 6-Speed Manual, 7-Speed DSG

While the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a massive hit on the automobile industry around the world, Skoda fans in India are looking forward to the upcoming SUV Vision IN. It was first discussed at the Auto Expo 2020 and Skoda has finally announced that the SUV will make it to the Indian market sometime in April 2021. Interested buyers can go through a used car evaluation tool to find out how much their current vehicle costs and get the best price for it in order to save a lot when buying the new Vision IN. According to Skoda, the Vision IN will be powered by a BSVI-compliant 3-cylinder, 1.0L Turbo-petrol engine. This could be the same engine we see in the Kamiq as well which is expected to be available in two tunes – 95Ps/175Nm and 115Ps/200Nm. The Vision IN is expected to mated to a 6-speed manual transmission system with an option for a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox as well. In terms of features, the Vision IN has been spotted with a large 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an even larger 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster. The steering wheel seen on the test vehicles included a flat-bottomed steering wheel so we can expect that the Vision IN SUV will have a sporty side to it.

Skoda Rapid 2021

Expected Launch 10 October, 2021
Engine 1.0L Turbo-Petrol
Transmission 6-Speed Manual, 7-Speed DSG

The facelifted Rapid 2021 is probably one of the most exciting announcements from Skoda this year and interested buyers will be able to get their hands on one of them towards the end of 2021. The previous Rapid saw a lot of people ready their RC transfer papers to get their hands on the model and we can expect the same from this model as well. Although not much has been discussed about the upcoming premium sedan, the Rapid 2021 has gained a lot of attention. The upgraded Rapid will now come with a BSVI-compliant 1.0L Turbo-petrol engine that is expected to generate 115Ps of power and 200Nm of torque which is the same kind of engine that is expected to feature on the Kamiq and Vision IN later this year. Similar to the Vision IN, the Rapid 2021 will come with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox to choose from. Given that Skoda and Volkswagen are teaming up to introduce CNG variants of their popular cars, Skoda could also introduce a CNG variant of the Rapid 2021 in the future.
