- 2front features a full-width LED light bar connecting Y-shaped LED DRLs
- 3Interior is expected to get a curved dual-screen setup & Pleos Connect infotainment
The next-generation Hyundai i20 is moving closer to its global debut, with Hyundai Brazil releasing a second teaser that reveals more details of the production-spec lighting setup. Expected to debut during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the fourth-generation i20 has already been previewed through teasers, spy shots, and leaked information. Based on what has been revealed so far, it appears set to bring one of the most significant design updates on the market.
2026 Hyundai i20 launch soon — Front lighting is a major step up

The biggest headline from the latest teaser is the front lighting setup. Hyundai has confirmed a full-width LED light bar running across the width of the front fascia, connecting the lighting clusters on both sides. At the corners, the i20 gets distinctive Y-shaped LED DRLs that are visually very close to the styling found on recent Lamborghini models including the Revuelto. This Lamborghini-inspired DRL shape had been anticipated based on earlier spy shots, and the teasers now confirm it in production form.

Below the DRLs, rectangular projector headlamp units are housed within a separate lower cluster. The two-level front lighting setup gives the new i20 a much more layered and modern appearance than the current generation's simpler arrangement.
Upcoming Hyundai i20 facelift rear lighting mirrors the front

The teaser also offers a look at the tail lamp design, and the approach is consistent with the front. A connected LED light bar runs across the rear of the car, paired with boomerang-shaped lighting elements at the outer edges. Like the front, the rear lighting emphasises width and a strong visual presence. The full-width connection at both ends gives the i20 a more premium and contemporary look.
New Hyundai i20 — Taller & more angular body
Earlier spy shots had already revealed the direction of the styling changes, and the latest teaser confirms the more upright and muscular silhouette. The greenhouse appears squarer, with sharper creases along the window line and roof. The overall profile is less rounded and more crossover-inspired than the current model, which reflects a global trend of hatchbacks adopting a more assertive, SUV-adjacent stance without actually increasing body dimensions.
2026 Hyundai i20 facelift interior — A significant update is expected

Hyundai has not shown the cabin yet, but spy shots from earlier rounds of testing pointed toward a major interior overhaul. A curved dual-screen setup, similar in concept to what Hyundai has deployed in its latest global products, is expected. Hyundai's newer Pleos Connect infotainment ecosystem may also arrive in the new i20, though this is not officially confirmed. Other expected upgrades include fresh upholstery options, a redesigned dashboard, a 360-degree camera system, and Level 2 ADAS functions in top variants.
Hyundai i20 powertrains expected to carry over
For the Indian market, the engine lineup is widely expected to stay as is. The standard i20 will likely continue with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol producing 83 PS with the manual and 88 PS with the iVT automatic. The N Line version is expected to retain the 1.0-litre turbo petrol producing 120 PS and 172 Nm, available with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT. Globally, Hyundai may offer hybrid options, but these are not expected for India at launch. Production for India currently happens at Hyundai's Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu.
