New Toyota Glanza mileage — Petrol, AMT and CNG figures compared

Toyota has confirmed the mileage of the facelifted Toyota Glanza. The hatchback is priced from Rs 6.99 lakh for the base E petrol manual to Rs 10.98 lakh for the V(O) petrol AMT (all ex-showroom). The five variants are E, S, G, V and V(O). There are two engine options. One is a 1.2-litre petrol. The other is the same engine with an E-CNG kit, offered only on the S and G variants. The Glanza CNG AMT is the most fuel-efficient version.

The Toyota Glanza facelift gets the new Z Series 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine, also used in the Baleno facelift. It is available in petrol and E-CNG versions, with a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The CNG version gets this option for the first time. The previous Glanza CNG was available with a manual gearbox only.
The CNG version produces around 10 kW less power and 10 Nm less torque than the petrol version. The petrol engine is available across all five variants, with both gearbox options except on the base E variant, which gets only the manual. The CNG option is limited to the S and G variants.

The old-model figures are the claimed numbers reported at the time of the launch.
The Glanza petrol AMT is 0.97 kpl more efficient than the manual, while the CNG AMT delivers 0.86 km/kg more than the CNG manual. Compared with the previous model, petrol mileage has improved by 1.45 kpl for the manual and 1.83 kpl for the AMT. The CNG manual also offers a 3.00 km/kg jump.
The CNG version has the highest mileage in the range, and the AMT further improves efficiency. Since petrol and CNG mileage use different units, they cannot be compared directly. Based on the 37-litre petrol tank, the Glanza can cover around 881 km with the manual and 916 km with the AMT on paper.

The AMT costs Rs 60,000 more than the manual on the S, G and V variants, and Rs 49,000 more on the V(O). The CNG manual costs Rs 1.05 lakh more than the petrol manual on the S and Rs 95,000 more on the G. For the AMT versions, the CNG premium is Rs 1 lakh on the S and Rs 90,000 on the G.
The price difference between the base E manual and the V(O) manual is Rs 3.50 lakh. The S CNG manual is the most affordable CNG option at Rs 8.76 lakh, while the G CNG AMT is the most expensive at Rs 10.23 lakh.
