Outline

Skoda Kodiaq RS pre- bookings in India will open on June 22, 2026, marking the arrival of the brand's first RS-badged SUV in the country. The Skoda RS badge has enjoyed a loyal fan following ever since the Octavia RS arrived more than two decades ago. That enthusiasm was evident last year when bookings for the latest Octavia RS sold out in under 20 minutes. Now, Skoda is bringing the RS formula to the SUV segment with the Kodiaq RS.

Why the Skoda Kodiaq RS launch is a milestone for Skoda India

Skoda Kodiaq RS

The Kodiaq RS marks a first for Skoda in India: it is the first seven-seater to wear the RS badge here. Ashish Gupta, brand director at Skoda Auto India, confirmed this while calling it the quickest Skoda ever to come to the country. Unlike the standard Kodiaq which is locally assembled, the RS variant will arrive in India as a completely built unit (CBU) import. Initial allocation for the first batch is limited to just 50 units.

Skoda Kodiaq RS engine and performance

Under the bonnet, the Kodiaq RS is powered by Volkswagen Group's 2.0-litre TSI Evo turbocharged petrol engine producing 265 PS and 400 Nm of torque. This is paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. Compared to the previous-generation Kodiaq RS, this is a 20 PS increase in output. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint is covered in 6.4 seconds, and top speed is rated at 231 km/h, making this the fastest Skoda heading to India right now.

RS-specific exterior design

The Kodiaq RS stands apart from the standard model with several RS-specific design elements. It features a sportier front bumper, gloss black accents on the grille, ORVMs, window surrounds, tailgate lettering and rear badging. The SUV also comes equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels and dual stainless steel exhaust outlets as standard. The overall effect is sportier and more aggressive than the standard Kodiaq without being overtly showy.

Inside, the Kodiaq RS gets sports seats with integrated headrests, an RS-specific steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and a dark interior theme with red contrast stitching. Suedia upholstery is standard, with leather as an option in some markets. On the technology front, the international version is equipped with LED Matrix headlights, adaptive DCC Plus suspension, progressive steering, multiple drive modes, a Canton premium audio system, acoustic glass and a large infotainment display paired with a fully digital instrument cluster. The India specification will be confirmed closer to launch.
