Third-gen Audi Q3 to be assembled in India — Launch set for 16 October

Audi India has started local assembly of the all-new Q3 ahead of its India launch on 16 October 2026. The third-generation SUV made its India debut in August and is the first of Audi's new models to arrive in the country. Local assembly could also help Audi price the Q3 more competitively than a fully imported model. Bookings for the new Q3 are already open.

Audi Q3 launch date and local assembly

The new Audi Q3 will be launched in India on 16 October 2026 and will replace the second-generation model, which has been on sale here for around four years. It will be assembled at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, formerly known as Aurangabad.

Audi India head Balbir Singh Dhillon has also confirmed that the A5, scheduled for February 2027, and the Q9 flagship SUV, expected in the second half of 2027, will be locally assembled.

New Audi Q3 engine and gearbox

The India-spec Q3 will be offered with a 2.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine. Audi has not yet confirmed the final India-spec power figures, but the engine is expected to produce around 204hp and 320Nm. The engine will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system, which is likely to be standard across the range. A diesel engine is not expected to be offered in India.

New Audi Q3 design and features

The new Q3 gets a more aggressive design than the outgoing model. It features split headlamps with configurable DRLs, body-coloured cladding, a chrome beltline and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Black trim is used around the side windows and rear windscreen.

At the rear, the SUV gets split tail lamps, an illuminated Audi logo and a rear spoiler. Inside, the Q3 gets a dual-screen setup with a digital driver's display and a central infotainment screen. Other features include a four-spoke steering wheel, a steering-column-mounted gear lever, a Sonos sound system, panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and a 360-degree camera.

Audi Q3 expected price

Audi has not announced the new Q3's price yet. It is expected to cost around Rs 55 lakh to Rs 60 lakh, ex-showroom. The current Q3 is priced between Rs 43.67 lakh and Rs 53 lakh, so the new-generation model is expected to be more expensive. Official pricing will be announced at the India launch on 16 October.
