Upcoming Maruti e Vitara spotted undisguised ahead of India launch

The e Vitara is Suzuki’s first all-electric offering to go on sale in the Indian market. The Suzuki e Vitara recently went on sale in the UK with an Indian-equivalent price of Rs 35 lakh. Ahead of its India launch that is likely to take place towards the end of year 2025, the Maruti e Vitara was recently spotted undisguised on road. We have seen the e Vitara on test numerous times before, but as we are nearing the Maruti e Vitara India launch, it has started to appear on the Indian roads in its production guise, without any camouflage. The e Vitara is already on display at multiple Nexa dealerships across the country, in order to gauge the customer response on what happens to be Maruti’s first all-electric offering in the country.

Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the Maruti e Vitara deliveries in India will begin before September-end this year. The electric SUV will be exclusively manufactured at the carmaker’s plant in Gujarat, which was previously owned by Suzuki Corporation, but now comes under MSIL as part of a recent development. Toyota’s version of the e Vitara—Toyota Urban Cruiser EV—shall be launched after Maruti’s car.

The cabin of the e Vitara looks a lot more premium than other Maruti cars in India. There’s the usual dual-screen setup on the dashboard, along with a new flat-bottom steering wheel. The AC vents have been placed in a vertical fashion, and there are physical buttons for the HVAC controls. The seats get a mix of fabric and leatherette treatment. Key Maruti e Vitara features include a Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated seats, powered driver’s seat, and 60+ telematic features.

Expected Maruti Suzuki e Vitara price in India

We expect the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara to be priced northwards of Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), making it brush shoulders with other electric SUVs in India such as the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, Mahindra XEV 9e, Hyundai Creta Electric, and the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.
