Driving Test Procedure in Pune

As is the case in every town of the country, the test for the driving licence in Pune is defined as per the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. The test is supervised by a Motor Vehicle Inspector from the RTO. He passes the applicant based on his performance. Also, the applicant should take his own vehicle to the test and this vehicle should be of the same class for which he has applied for a DL. One can use a vehicle of the motor driving school if he doesn’t have the required vehicle.

Test for Two-Wheeler & Three-Wheeler:

In case of the test for a 2 wheeler and a 3 wheeler driving licence, the candidate is first required to ride within a boundary. He is asked to ride on an imaginary pattern of 8. If the invigilator is satisfied with the performance, the applicant is asked to drive on a public road, where his skills in real-world conditions are judged.

Test for Four Wheeler

Fundamentally, the driving licence test for a 4-wheeler is the same as that for a 2-wheeler or a 3-wheeler. Even in this case, the applicant is required to drive on a pre-designed test course without coming in contact with any of the columns placed on the perimeter of the track. Once satisfied, the invigilator is asked to drive in real-world conditions. In case an applicant fails the DL test for a 2-, 3- or 4-wheeler, he can apply for a re-test after 7 days after the payment of a nominal fee.
