2027 Mahindra Scorpio N facelift design leaked via new grille patent — Details inside!

A new patent filing has revealed the clearest look yet at the front grille of the upcoming 2027 Mahindra Scorpio N facelift. The design looks similar to the grille seen on a heavily camouflaged test mule spotted testing on public roads earlier this month. This is the latest in a series of spy shots and leaks of the updated SUV seen over the past year. Since the Scorpio N is one of Mahindra's key models, the facelift is an important update for the brand.

Mahindra Scorpio N facelift grille design details

The patent images show a wide grille with multiple layered horizontal bars and shorter rectangular elements. Vertical supports behind these elements create a stacked look within the outer frame. The grille also gets a slightly raised upper edge, angled sides and rounded lower corners.

The centre section narrows towards the bottom and appears to have a mounting area for the Mahindra Twin Peaks logo, similar to the design seen on the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup.

A small circular element can also be seen near the lower section of the centre area. Its exact purpose is not clear from the patent images, but it could be related to a front camera or sensor setup. This would fit with the possibility of the updated Scorpio N getting additional driver-assistance features.

How this fits with the Scorpio N facelift spy shots so far

The Scorpio N facelift has been spotted testing several times since October 2025. The first spy shots showed a heavily camouflaged test mule with the overall silhouette largely unchanged. The scorpion-tail character line in the window graphic was also visible. More test mules were spotted in May 2026, with the rear and side profile revealing little change. These sightings also hinted at new 19-inch alloy wheels with a slightly concave design.

By July 2026, spy shots had revealed more details about the cabin. The test mule appeared to have a larger free-standing touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster, with a layout similar to the Thar Roxx. An earlier convoy sighting in Chandigarh also showed a Scorpio N facelift prototype with temporary lighting units. Reports have also suggested a 10.2-inch touchscreen and possible ventilated seats.

The latest test mule spotted earlier this month still used temporary circular headlamps, keeping the final lighting design hidden. The new patent filing therefore gives the clearest indication so far of the changes planned for the front end.

Scorpio Lifestyler's influence on the facelift

The Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, unveiled in August 2026, is expected to influence the design of the updated Scorpio N. Mahindra's design chief has indicated that some of the pickup's styling elements will be carried over to the Scorpio N and other Scorpio family models.

The Lifestyler features a wide front end, slim lighting elements and a large bumper. Its cabin also gets a portrait-oriented touchscreen and a redesigned dashboard. The horizontal design of the newly patented Scorpio N grille appears to follow a similar direction, although the final production design could still differ.

What else to expect from the Scorpio N facelift

Apart from the exterior changes, the Scorpio N facelift is expected to get a larger infotainment touchscreen, a revised digital instrument cluster and updated switchgear. Possible additions could include ventilated seats and a more advanced driver-assistance system.

The existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines are expected to continue. The current manual and automatic gearbox options are also likely to be retained, along with the diesel-only 4WD setup. The Mahindra Scorpio N facelift is expected to launch sometime in 2027. Further test mules and design leaks could reveal more details before its official debut.
