MG Hector Tomahawk EV deliveries begin — PHEV version to follow in November

JSW MG Motor India has delivered the first batch of 50 Hector Tomahawk EVs to customers in Surat in a single day, marking an early delivery milestone for the company's newest electric SUV. The Tomahawk EV is offered in both five- and seven-seat configurations. MG is also preparing a plug-in hybrid version of the SUV, which will arrive later.

The MG Hector Tomahawk EV's BaaS option brings down the upfront price across the variants. The Excite 7S costs Rs 19,49,800 without BaaS, while the BaaS version starts at Rs 13,99,000, reducing the upfront cost by Rs 5.51 lakh, with battery rental charged at Rs 4.90 per km.
The Exclusive 7S is priced at Rs 21,99,800 without BaaS, compared with Rs 15,99,000 with the scheme. This means a Rs 6.01 lakh lower upfront cost. The top-spec Essence gets the same Rs 6.01 lakh reduction, with the five-seater costing Rs 16,99,000 under BaaS compared with Rs 22,99,800 without it, while the seven-seater costs Rs 17,49,000 instead of Rs 23,49,800. In both cases, the battery rental is Rs 4.90 per km.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV
The Tomahawk EV gets a 69.2kWh battery and a 204hp/310Nm electric motor. MG claims a 517km MIDC range and 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds. It supports 90kW DC charging, with 30-80% taking around 35 minutes, while a 7.4kW AC charger takes about 12.5 hours for 10-100%. It also supports V2L and V2V, along with V2H, which can supply power to a home through two-way charging.
MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV battery, price, and delivery
MG is also preparing a plug-in hybrid version of the Hector Tomahawk. It combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission and a 20.5kWh battery. MG claims more than 115km of pure-electric range and over 1,100km of combined range with a full tank and full charge.
The PHEV will be offered only as a seven-seater. Prices start at Rs 25,69,800 for the Exclusive 7S and go up to Rs 27,79,800 for the Essence 7S. A limited-period BaaS option will also be available, starting at Rs 21.79 lakh, with battery rental charged at Rs 3.20 per km. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in November.
