The Tata Hexa facelift is a much-anticipated model this year and has already given enthusiasts a lot to look forward to. The upcoming Hexa will be getting rid of its outdated BSIV engines and replacing them with BSVI-compliant engines. Under the hood, the Hexa will now come with a 2.2L VARICOR diesel engine that will be available in 2 separate tunes – 156Ps/400Nm and 150Ps/320Nm. In terms of transmission, the upcoming Hexa will be mated to either a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. According to the leaks seen online, the Hexa will keep the same design with a few upgrades in the headlamps, taillights, and interiors. Overall, the facelifted Hexa could be one of the most sold SUVs in the country once it is launched but we will have to wait and see what is on offer when it is officially announced.

Tata Gravitas

Expected Launch 10 September, 2020
Engine 2.0L Diesel, 1.6L Petrol
Transmission 6-Speed Manual, 6-Speed Automatic

Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020, the Tata Gravitas is expected to be the flagship model above the similar looking Harrier. Tata is also expected to price the Gravitas at about Rs. 1 lakh above the price of the Harrier. The Gravitas will come with LED DRLs mounted into the front bumper along with auto dimming IRVM. The SUV will also come with new 17-inch alloy wheels which will give it a premium look. While the Gravitas does look like the Harrier in many ways, the former gets an extra row of seats thanks to its extended overhand in the rear. In the rear, the Gravitas also gets a bigger quarter glass, new LED taillights, a wider windscreen, and a new bumper when compared to the Harrier. Powering the Gravitas will be an upgraded BSVI-compliant 2.0L diesel engine that is capable of producing 170Ps of power and 350Nm of torque. There is also talk about Tata releasing a 1.6L petrol engine for the Gravitas which will be included in the coming months. In the transmission department, the Gravitas is expected to come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard or can also be had with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Some of the other features of the Gravitas include an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 9-speaker audio system, and automatic air conditioning.

Tata EVision Electric

Expected Launch 1 December, 2020
Top Speed 200 Kmph
Range 300+ Kms

Based on Tata’s OMEGA architecture, the EVision Electric is a concept car that, as the name suggests, runs on electricity. It is the first sedan that was announced under the Impact 2.0 design structure. Based on what was discussed, the EVision will feature one electric motor on each axle as well as a battery pack that is fitted into the floor. This design feature not only creates more space in the car, but keeps the center of gravity low to the ground for superior control. It is estimated that the car, on a single charge, will run for up to 350-420 Kms which is far better than any EV available today. The top speed of the EVision is said to be set at around 200 Kmph which should be enough to take on most sedans in the segment.

Tata HBX

Expected Launch 14 December, 2020
Engine 1.2L Revotron Petrol
Transmission 5-Speed Manual, 5-Speed Automatic

Tata is ready to launch their premium and stylish hatchback HBX. It was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and immediately caught people’s attention. For starters, the HBX is expected to come in with a price tag of about Rs. 5.00 lakh, which is a very competitive number in the current market. According to the leaks and news, the HBX will be fitted with the same 1.2L Revotron petrol engine that is found in the Tata Altroz and Tiago, albeit a BSVI-compliant version. The engine will generate 86Ps of power along with 113Nm of torque and will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as a standard option. There will also be an optional 5-speed automatic gearbox included. In terms of features, the HBX is expected to come with a 7-inch floating touchscreen infotainment setup as well as calling and audio controls mounted into the steering wheel.

Tata Altroz EV

Expected Launch 15 December, 2020
Battery 30kWh
Range 300 Kms

EVs or Electric Vehicles are becoming increasingly popular across the world and Tata wants to get in on the action as well. They are soon about to launch the EV variant of the already popular Altroz. It is expected to be launched sometime during December this year as it was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 earlier this year. Inside the Altroz EV, Tata is expected to include a semi-digital instrument cluster which might be a step backward for the company. Otherwise, the Altroz EV is expected to come with other features like automatic air conditioning, a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a powerful audio setup. The Altroz EV is expected to get its power from a 30kWh Lithium-Ion battery pack and is rumoured to have a maximum range of 300 kms on a single charge.

Tata Tiago EV

Expected Launch 15 December, 2020
Battery 21.5kWh
Range 213 Kms

While many people are still looking for ways to clean up the Earth and its environment, Tata is already taking massive steps in the right direction with the expected launch of the Tiago EV. Electric vehicles are soon going to be a huge part of our future and the Tiago EV seems like a great way to get there. Powering this car is a massive 21.5kWh Lithium-Ion battery that offers an impressive 213 kms mileage on a single charge. Charging the battery to 100 percent takes about 6-8 hours while there is also fast charge capabilities that reduce that time to just 1.5 hours. As of now, not much is known about the Tiago EV other than Tata is expected to launch the model sometime this December. We can expect the Tiago to mirror many of the features of the recently launched Tigor EV.

Tata Sierra

Expected Launch 10 January, 2022
Expected Powertrain Ziptron EV
Range 400 Kms

The Tata Sierra concept car was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and has caused quite a stir in the EV segment of the automobile industry. Although it is not expected to launch any time before 2022, many people are looking forward to what the car will have to offer. One of the first things we can expect is that Tata will include an upgraded version of the Ziptron EV powertrain which is currently being used in their EV models. If that is the case, the Sierra will offer a range of about 400 kms on a single charge – something very few EV cars can do right now. However, Tata is expected to first release petrol and diesel variants of the Sierra before the EV version. Some of the features seen on the concept include dual-tone alloy wheels, LED headlamps and taillights, and will feature the IMPACT 2.0 design by Tata which is based around the ALFA-ARC platform for its design and safety features.
