Mercedes-AMG has unveiled a Final Edition of the A45 S 4Matic+. And this edition marks the end of the road for one of the most powerful four-cylinder hot hatches ever put into series production. The special edition arrives in Europe and the UK as a farewell to the combustion-engined performance hatch. However, Mercedes prepares to keep the broader A-Class lineup alive until 2028 by shifting production from Germany to Hungary.
Mercedes-AMG A45 S Final Edition built on the 2024 limited edition

The Mercedes-AMG A45 S Final Edition follows on from the "Limited Edition" that Mercedes-AMG introduced back in 2024. But takes a noticeably different visual approach. Where the earlier special edition wore a vivid green paint scheme, the Final Edition opts for a stealthy look. The exterior is finished in Manufaktur Mountain Grey Magno, a matte grey shade, paired with Dark Chrome door handles and an array of yellow accents running along the car's profile. Additional 45 S decals appear on the mirror caps and rear wing, while the fuel filler cap gets a silver chrome finish with AMG lettering.
Standard equipment on the Final Edition includes the AMG Night Package I and II, which bring the car's Dark Chrome detailing, along with the AMG Aerodynamics Package. This aero kit includes a front splitter, canards, a rear diffuser blade and a rear wing. The car rides on black 19-inch forged alloy wheels featuring a white ring and yellow accents, with gloss black brake callipers finished in white AMG lettering visible behind the spokes.
Mercedes-AMG A45 S Final Edition cabin gets a matching treatment

Inside, the Final Edition is finished with AMG Performance seats upholstered in a combination of black Artico synthetic leather and Microcut microfiber, featuring yellow contrast stitching and "45 S" embroidery. Yellow detailing and aluminium inserts continue the exterior's colour theme into the cabin, while a dedicated "45 S Final Edition" badge sits on the centre console.
Mercedes-AMG A45 S Final Edition engine and Performance Remain Unchanged
Mechanically, the Mercedes-AMG A45 S Final Edition remains unchanged. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre M139 four-cylinder engine that produces 421 PS and 500 Nm. This is paired with an 8-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission and the AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system.

The A45 S Final Edition can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 270 kmph. The same M139 engine was also used in the now-discontinued AMG C63, where it produced up to 469 hp.
Mercedes-AMG A45 S Final Edition pricing and availability

The Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4Matic+ Final Edition is priced at £67,965 in the UK, which converts to roughly $90,500 at current exchange rates. Mercedes has not disclosed production numbers for this farewell special edition, though the model is expected to be discontinued entirely later this year. For context, the less powerful A35 remains on sale in the UK at a considerably lower £48,030.
The current generation of the A45 S first arrived in 2019 and received a mild facelift in late 2022, meaning this Final Edition closes out a production run of roughly seven years for this particular iteration of the car.
