Outline

Skoda has officially unveiled the Peaq, its new flagship electric SUV. It is unlike anything the brand has made before. Revealed in Mlada Boleslav, the Peaq sits at the top of Skoda's all-electric model range and marks the brand's first entry into the large electric SUV segment. Measuring 4.87 metres in length, it offers seven seats and a claimed range of over 640 km.

The new SUV rivals models such as the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9, and Volvo EX90. The Peaq can be seen as an electric alternative to the combustion-powered Kodiaq, although it is larger in size and positioned higher in the lineup.

Upcoming Skoda Peaq design and exterior

Skoda Peaq

The Skoda Peaq follows the brand's Modern Solid design language, which was first introduced with the Epiq. The front end features a closed upper grille and what Skoda calls the 'Tech-Deck Face', a glossy black panel that connects both headlamp clusters. Slender T-shaped LED lighting elements are used at the front and rear and were first seen on the Epiq concept.

The Peaq is the first Skoda model to feature flush door handles that retract completely into the bodywork when the vehicle is locked or in motion. They automatically extend as the driver approaches the SUV. It is also the first Skoda to offer a panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control. The system covers more than 2.1 square metres of glass area and is divided into nine individually adjustable sections that can be controlled through the infotainment system. At launch, this feature will be exclusive to the Sportline variant.

Skoda Peaq colour options

The Skoda Peaq will be available in 10 exterior colour options: rosewood beige, black magic, olibo green, energy blue, moon white, steel grey, graphite grey, race blue, smokey diamond silver, and velvet red.

Skoda Peaq dimensions, seating, & boot space

In terms of dimensions, the Peaq measures 4,874 mm in length, 1,867 mm in width, and 1,664 mm in height. It has a 2,965 mm wheelbase, making it 174 mm longer than the Kodiaq and 124 mm longer than the Superb. Ground clearance stands at 184 mm.

Despite its large size, the Peaq has a drag coefficient of 0.249. This has been achieved through aerodynamic features such as active grille shutters, air curtain channels, flush door handles, aerodynamic wheel designs, and a flat underbody. The SUV will be offered in ten exterior colours and with wheel sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches.

Skoda says more than 50 kg of recycled materials have been used across the vehicle's exterior and interior. Another interesting detail is a small graphic of three cyclists etched into the passenger-side windscreen. It serves as a tribute to Skoda's roots as a bicycle manufacturer under the Slavia brand.

The Skoda Peaq can be configured with up to seven seats, with the long 2,965 mm wheelbase helping maximise cabin space across all three rows. Boot capacity stands at 299 litres when all seven seats are in use. Folding the third row increases luggage space to 935 litres, making it the largest boot offered in any Skoda model. The SUV also gets a 37-litre front trunk (frunk) that can be used to store charging cables and other small items.

Skoda Peaq interior & features

Skoda Peaq is available in five interior themes: Suite Black, Suite Ceramique, Lodge, Loft, and Sportline. The range-topping Suite variants use Techtona, a leather-free upholstery material. Skoda will also offer a new Relax Package, which includes AGR-certified front seats with heating, ventilation, massage functions, and electrically adjustable leg rests. Other features include a fold-out centre console table and a Sonos premium sound system.

The Peaq also introduces a dedicated wellbeing app with six modes, including relaxation, stretching, and energy boost. Depending on the selected mode, the system can adjust seat massage settings, cabin lighting, and climate controls.

Another highlight is the new 13.6-inch vertically mounted infotainment system, the first of its kind in a Skoda. It runs on an Android-based platform and supports features such as a redesigned interface, system-wide search, user personalisation, and apps including Spotify and YouTube. The SUV also gets wireless Qi2 charging for two smartphones with magnetic alignment and up to 25W charging output.

For buyers planning longer trips, Skoda has added a new Camp Mode. It can be activated through the MySkoda app and allows the vehicle to maintain cabin temperature overnight, making it useful for those resting or sleeping inside the vehicle.

Skoda Peaq battery, range, & charging

The Peaq is offered with two battery capacities and three powertrain variants. The smaller battery has a gross capacity of 63 kWh (59 kWh net) and can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 27 minutes. The larger 91 kWh battery (86 kWh net) is the biggest ever fitted to any Skoda electric vehicle and charges from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes. Both batteries use NMC chemistry and are manufactured in Mlada Boleslav.

The three variants are the Peaq 60, Peaq 90, and Peaq 90x. The Peaq 60 uses the 63 kWh battery with rear-wheel drive, produces 150 kW and 350 Nm, does 0 to 100 kph in 8.4 seconds, tops out at 160 kph, and offers over 450 km of range.

The Peaq 90 uses the 91 kWh battery with rear-wheel drive, delivers 210 kW and 545 Nm, completes 0 to 100 kph in 7.1 seconds, has a top speed of 180 kph, and offers over 640 km of range. The Peaq 90x adds all-wheel drive and a front asynchronous motor, pushing output to 220 kW, dropping 0 to 100 kph to 6.7 seconds, and providing over 610 km of range.

Towing capacity is up to 1,800 kg for the Peaq 60 and 90, and 2,000 kg for the Peaq 90x. All variants support one-pedal driving and bidirectional charging, with V2L (Vehicle-to-Load), V2H (Vehicle-to-Home), and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) capability when used with the Ambibox DC Wallbox.

Skoda Peaq safety and assistance systems

Standard safety equipment includes 10 airbags, including a centre airbag and rear side airbags. The Peaq also comes with front assist, crossroad assist, turn assist, lane assist, side assist with rear traffic alert, and predictive cruise control as standard.

Optional driver assistance features include Travel Assist 3.0 with traffic light response and traffic jam assist. Buyers can also opt for a 360-degree camera system with transparent 3D vehicle visualisation, along with intelligent park assist, which supports trained park assist and remote park assist functions.

The interior adopts an all-black theme with sports seats, integrated head restraints, a three-spoke steering wheel, and sports pedal covers. The Convenience and Tech Packages are included as standard in the Sportline, along with SunSet tinted rear windows.
