Tata Motors has launched the updated Tata Tiago EV in India, with prices starting at Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom) under the BaaS scheme, making it one of the most affordable electric cars in the market. For full purchase, prices start at Rs 6.99 lakh for the base Smart variant with a 19.2kWh battery and go up to Rs 9.99 lakh for the top Creative variant with a 24kWh battery pack.

The 2026 Tata Tiago EV is a major update rather than a minor refresh. It gets a redesigned exterior, a new dual-tone interior, six airbags as standard, and faster charging that is around 40% improved over the earlier version.

The updated Tata Tiago EV gets EV-specific styling changes while following a similar design direction as the petrol Tiago. At the front, it features sleek LED headlamps with DRLs, along with a body-coloured closed grille. The bumpers are redesigned with faux side vents, giving it a cleaner look. It does not get front fog lamps, unlike the ICE version.

It also comes with smaller 14-inch aero wheels for better efficiency. At the rear, it gets connected LED tail-lamps and a revised bumper design. Other elements include blacked-out ORVMs, a shark-fin antenna, chrome door handle accents, and a dual-tone black roof. The Tiago EV is offered in six colours: Dehradun Dew, Sobo Surge, Pangong Pulse, Matheran Monsoon, Pure Grey, and Pristine White.

Inside the 2026 Tata Tiago EV, the cabin gets a complete redesign with a more modern layout. It now features a flat dashboard with a freestanding 10.25-inch touchscreen and a part-digital TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth support. The two-spoke steering wheel is carried over but gets a new Tata.ev logo.

Tata says the EV’s E and E architecture has been upgraded to support more features and faster processing. The car now offers connected car tech with over 40 functions, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, rear AC vents, a cooled glovebox, auto-fold ORVMs, a height-adjustable driver seat, and a four-speaker setup. The centre console includes two wireless charging pads, finished in gloss black. Other updates include new door pads, a front armrest, and grey fabric upholstery. The old gear lever is replaced by a rotary drive selector for a cleaner layout.

Tata Tiago EV safety features

The 2026 Tata Tiago EV gets a major upgrade in safety. It now comes with six airbags as standard across all variants, replacing the earlier two-airbag setup. Other safety features include ESP with traction control, hill hold assist, TPMS, torque vectoring by braking, and ABS with EBD. It also gets a 360-degree camera with multiple views, blind-view monitor, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and follow-me-home headlamps. Tata has also improved the structural rigidity of the Tiago EV to enhance crash protection.

2026 Tata Tiago EV battery, range, and faster charging

The 2026 Tata Tiago EV continues with two battery options: a 19.2kWh pack for the Medium Range variants and a 24kWh pack for the Long Range variants. The 19.2kWh battery produces 62hp and 110Nm, with a claimed MIDC range of 226 km. The 24kWh version produces 75hp and 114Nm, with a claimed range of 285 km. Tata’s real-world C75 range is 160 to 170 km for the smaller battery and 205 to 215 km for the larger one.

Charging has improved, with Tata claiming up to 40 percent faster charging. The car can add around 100 km of range in 18 minutes. With a 30kW DC fast charger, both battery packs can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 35 minutes. AC charging options include 3.3kW and 7.2kW units. The 24kWh variant also does 0 to 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds. It gets four-level regenerative braking along with City and Sport drive modes.

Tata Tiago EV BaaS and outright prices — Variant-wise prices

The BaaS (Battery as a Service) scheme allows buyers to own the Tiago EV from Rs. 4.69 lakh by separating the battery cost from the car price and paying for it based on usage. For outright purchase, the prices are as follows:

Battery PackVariantPrice (ex-showroom)
19.2kWhSmartRs. 6.99 lakh
19.2kWhPure+Rs. 8.49 lakh
24kWhPure+Rs. 9.49 lakh
24kWhCreativeRs. 9.99 lakh

Tata is also offering a lifetime unlimited kilometre warranty on the high-voltage battery for the 24kWh version for the first registered owner, which is a meaningful ownership assurance. The 19.2kWh version continues with an 8-year and 1.6 lakh km battery warranty.

How it stands against rivals

The 2026 Tata Tiago EV competes mainly with the MG Comet EV and the Citroen eC3. Against these rivals, the updated Tiago EV stands out with a more complete feature list, six airbags as standard, faster charging performance, and the choice of two battery options. The BaaS scheme also helps bring down the starting price, making it more attractive for buyers looking to reduce upfront costs.
