Upcoming Volkswagen Golf GTI colours revealed — All black?

Ahead of the Volkswagen Golf GTI India launch, which, by the way, isn’t too far from now, the colour options of this upcoming hot hatch have been revealed. Here are the upcoming Volkswagen Golf GTI colours.

2025 Volkswagen Golf GTI colour options

The India bound Golf GTI will be available in a choice of four exterior colours — Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White Premium Mother-of-Pearl Black, Moonstone Grey Black, and Kings Red Premium Metallic Black. You can check out pictures of all the colours in this carousel below.

New Volkswagen Golf GTI India launch timeline

The Volkswagen Golf GTI launch in India will happen within the next few months, i.e., by June 2025. The car that we’ll get will be the updated version that was introduced in certain global markets back in April 2024.

Expected Volkswagen Golf GTI price in India

Volkswagen will bring the Golf GTI in limited numbers via the CBU route, thereby making it a pricier offering. We expect the Golf to be priced northwards of Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).

Volkswagen Golf GTI engine specs

The Golf GTI comes powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that has been tuned to produce 265PS of maximum power and 370Nm of peak torque. All the power is sent to the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a limited slip differential. The Volkswagen Golf GTI top speed has been limited to 250kmph, and triple digit speeds appear in just under 6 seconds.

Golf GTI exterior styling

Speaking about the design of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, it features a slim grille up front adjoining the LED headlights, and a sporty front bumper with vertical air intakes. Around the side, it runs on 19-inch sporty alloy wheels and boasts side skirting, enhancing the side profile. Around the back, we get to see slim LED tail lights, and twin round exhaust pipes, and we suspect they should sound rather raspy.

Golf GTI interior and features

On the inside, we get to see a driver-centric dashboard, with the centre console boasting the touchscreen tilted ever-so-slightly towards the driver for easier access and a sporty appeal. The highlight of its interior is the large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system that — along with wireless smartphone integration — also offers Chat-GPT integration with the in-car personal voice assistant. Other highlights on its interior include a sporty steering wheel with GTI badging, aluminium pedals and sports seats.
