Datsun is a budget brand from Nissan. While the Datsun of the previous century was known for some exciting sportscars, it now sells entry-level models like the Datsun redi-GO. While the carmaker has not been too successful with penetrating deep in our market, its cars have been on sale long enough to be readily available in the 2nd hand cars markets across the country.
Datsun redi-GO
The Datsun redi-GO, the cheapest car in the company’s lineup, has a starting price of just Rs 2.71 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). This means that the small car ends up being a direct rival of the Maruti Alto and the Renault Kwid. The redi-GO comes with a crossover styling, a high ground clearance and is fairly easy to maintain.
The Datsun GO is another low-priced small car that is similar in size to the likes of Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 but costs Wagon R money. It features a bench-like front seat for seating capacity of six, while the recent facelift has even brought in some new features. Also, the 1.2-litre petrol engine is high both on power and mileage.
The Datsun GO+ is the most affordable 7-seater passenger car available in the country. Based on the GO hatchback, it gets the same specifications and features. However, it offers a much more spacious cabin that can accommodate up to seven occupants. The GO+ is both inexpensive to buy and run and can be bought by all those who want a large car but are restricted by budget.
