When it comes to premium sports cars, the name Bugatti stands out for all the right reasons. Known for its speed, Bugatti is a company that sells cars that can really give you an adrenaline rush. Originally starting out in the 1900s, Bugatti has always been a pioneer in the automobile industry with its state-of-the-art designs and innovative engines. Now, almost 120 years later, the French manufacturer is still delivering cars that can simply take your breath away. While there is a lineup of Bugatti cars available outside of the country, in India, there are only 2 models available for purchase- one of which is currently still open for purchase. Let’s take a look at the two cars and see what they have to offer to interested buyers.
|Bugatti Chiron||19.21 – 21.21 Crore|
|Bugatti Divo||41.0 Crore|
|Engine||8.0L Quad-Turbocharged W16 Petrol|
|0-100 Kmph||2.5 Seconds|
Kicking things off is the Bugatti Chiron which was made available to the Indian public for a price tag of about 19.21 – 21.21 Crore and is definitely one of the most expensive cars available in the market today. The car is the successor to the worldwide famous and most 2nd hand car in their lineup, the Bugatti Veyron, which only tells us that the Chiron offers a lot more. The first thing we look at is the impressive 8.0L Quad-Turbocharged W16 petrol engine that offers a mind-blowing 1600Nm of torque and 1500PS of power. The 7993cc engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and delivers a top speed of 420kmph with an acceleration of 0-100kmph in just 2.5 seconds. With all that power, it is only obvious that the Chiron has a mileage of 5.95 kmpl.
On the outside, the Chiron features adjustable headlamps along with fog lamps for the front and rear. The automatic rain-sensing wipers help you stay focused on what’s important – driving. The rear window defogger ensures that your line of sight is never impeded on cold, foggy, or rainy days. The inside of the car is just as impressive as it comes with posh leather seats, a leather steering wheel, an outside temperature display, a digital clock, adjustable and heated driver seats, air conditioners and heaters, automatic climate control, parking sensors, cruise control, and a digital instrument cluster. Some of the other feature found on the Chiron are keyless entry, a push-button start and stop, gearshift paddles, anti-lock braking, anti-theft alarm, front airbags, front and side-impact beams, crash sensor, and hill descent control.
|Engine||8.0L Quad-Turbocharged W16 Petrol|
|Top Speed||380 Kmph|
|0-100 Kmph||2.4 Seconds|
The Bugatti Divo is the company’s most expensive car and currently sits at 41.0 Crore in the Indian market. Unfortunately, there were only 40 units produced across the globe and all have been sold out. There is no set date from Bugatti as to if and when they would release more, but the car is definitely worth every penny. Under the hood, the Divo is fitted with the same 8.0L Quad-Turbocharged W16 petrol engine found on the Bugatti Chiron. It is attached to the same 7-speed automatic transmission and offers the same torque and power as its close cousin. The difference between the Divo and Chiron is that while the engine pushes the Chiron to a maximum speed of 420 kmph, the Divo is only capable of reaching a speed of 380 kmph – which is still a lot faster than most of the cars available today. Nevertheless, the Divo is a much better performer on the track as it came in 8 seconds faster than the Chiron at an Italian circuit. The Divo houses a massive 100-litre fuel tank and has an acceleration of 0-100kmph in 2.4 seconds – a fraction faster than the Chiron.
In terms of exteriors, the Divo has a larger grille that extends over the entire front of the car and creates a smaller bumper for added speed. There are air dams cut into the front, on the hood, and on the doors for better circulation to help keep the engine cool at such high speeds. Some of the key features offered by the Bugatti Divo are fog lights, driver and passenger airbags, leather seats, a leather steering wheel, automatic climate control, heated seats, air conditioning, and anti-lock braking system.
While Bugatti has not announced any upcoming models for India, we can’t wait to see what they have to offer the world in the coming years. The cars might be extremely expensive, but with a used car evaluation tool, you can save some cash by getting the best deal on your cars today. So, will you be getting your RC transfer ready anytime soon or will you eagerly (and most likely, uselessly) wait for a budget-friendly model from the company?
